ISO: Brand Experience Stylist & Event Sales Assistant

Part-time position averaging 10-15 hours weekly, with the potential to flex up during busy seasons, weekends & events.

The Babe Standard is hiring for our growing small business with three locations: Lee’s Summit, North KC & Kansas City’s Northland (Zona Rosa). This is a part-time position with the opportunity to grow within the company for the right fit. Are you ready to be the hype girl everyone wants in their corner?

Staff members can be assigned to one location, or support among our 3 shops and events. Please specify which location you are interested in working at, or if you are open to supporting multiple locations. Our current needs are primarily Lee’s Summit & Zona Rosa.

WHO WE ARE: The Babe Standard is a woman-owned jewelry and accessory boutique based in Kansas City, but sold coast-to-coast. We carry fashion jewelry ranging in price from $9-25, demi fine jewelry pieces ranging from $20-50, permanent jewelry, handbags, custom hats, charm jewelry, and accessories. At The Babe Standard, experiences are the focus, and products are the bonus. We offer permanent jewelry, ear piercing, custom jewelry & the opportunity to customize your wide brim or trucker hat.

The Babe Standard is consistently an early adapter of all accessory trends. We brought permanent jewelry to brick & mortar for the first time & are home to Kansas City’s FIRST Custom Hat Bar. As we are growing & expanding one thing is certain ... you can expect new & exciting experiences!

We are an online, brick & mortar and mobile boutique attending pop-up events throughout the year. We believe that women support women, in equality for all && most of all that “Big Hoop Energy Changes the World”

THE RIGHT FIT FOR US: Someone who is outgoing, independently motivated, and ready to learn and take on a variety of tasks within the business. Someone who is confident, fashionable, positive, and passionate about people, styling, customer experience & sales. Our ideal Babe loves creating connections with customers and helping them select the perfect accessories, experiences, and services. Building connections with the community & creating long lasting relations with our customers is key. Must be comfortable with technology, social media, multitasking, and working both independently and alongside a team.

TASKS TO INCLUDE:

EXPERIENCE & STYLING

• Assist customers with charm bar, patch bar, hats, handbags & accessories
• Support the sales flow of permanent jewelry and ear piercing services
• Assist customers in styling accessories and selecting pieces for their wardrobe
• Create a welcoming, elevated customer experience throughout every interaction

VISUAL MERCHANDISING

• Assist in or create displays at events & in-store
• Social media content creation at events & in-store
• Appear in social media content for Instagram stories, photos & videos
• Assist in setting up and tearing down booth displays, fixtures & event materials

SALES

• Run Shopify POS and assist customers throughout the shopping experience
• Assist the owner, Event Sales Director, or store team in running events and in-store operations
• Assist customers in selecting the perfect accessories, services, and experiences
• Assist with restocking, cleaning, organization & day-to-day operations
• Ability to lift up to 30lbs & stand for 6+ hours at a time

EVENTS

• Assist in running local KC based events with potential for future travel opportunities
• Assist in loading/unloading and setting up/tearing down a booth
• Support customer flow during busy weekends and high-volume events

WHAT I CAN OFFER: I am ready to train the right person who wants to have a great future, either within our boutique or building their own. We operate on Shopify, so you will be able to learn that platform while working in our business. You will gain experience in fashion retail, customer experience, events, merchandising, and social media content creation while working within a fast-growing small business. There is opportunity for growth within the company for the right fit. Monthly jewelry allowance && a hefty employee discount for extras or gifting needs.

TERM: A seasonal position. May-August An opportunity to stay on after summer will be extended to select few seasonal employees

PAY: $16/hour + shared gratuity pool

Our part-time team members often average well above hourly pay with gratuity included, especially during busy weekends & events.

AVAILABILITY: Our busiest seasons are Spring & Summer. Full weekend availability throughout June & July is required. Our shops are open Thursday - Sunday, and open availability at least 2 of those days is key to the success of our business.
